Titre
A Historical Review of the Berbers and their Socio-cultural Characteristics
Résumé
The Berbers are the least described African tribes to this day. Although they have been provisionally assigned to the North-Berber group within the Berber branch, their immediate affiliation remains an open question. The principal task of this paper is to describe the basic records of the fundamental elements of Berber socio cultural structure which are not very dissimilar to other historical development.
The research shows that Berber still survives today, but its future remains uncertain in the face of the forces of urbanization, economic migration and lack of government support all of which may contribute hypothetically.
This study will be pursued with reference to the historical and cultural context of the Berber. As the thesis title suggests, this study should not be taken as the last word on Berber in 21st century. The little available data on Berber in a history makes the task harder in establishing a clear picture of its structure and texture. This article has multiple issues.
