- This study deals with the stages of the contemporary history of the states of Tunisia and Libya in their attempt to achieve unity in the first founding meeting held on the Tunisian island of Djerba on January 12, 1974, in circumstances characterized by the rise of the revolutionary Libyan regime ambitious for regional unity under the leadership of Muammar Gaddafi,And the emerging Tunisian regime led by Habib Bourguiba, which is searching for a secure position to achieve strategic goals. What are the backgrounds of this project, its political implications, and what are its regional repercussions and repercussions? This is what we will answer in this study.
