Résumé
Duveyrier mentions several MSS (pp. 207-209). The first is a MS he had discovered in the Jabal Nafūsa in 1860. It has 560 pp. The author is Abū ‘l-ʿAbbās Aḥm. b. Saʿīd al-Shammākhī. It has no title and in the Jabal Nafūsa it is, inappropiately, referred to as “Chronicle of the Nafūsa”. See Lewicki 1934b.
The second MS Duveyrier mentions is an extract from a MS a Ṭālib in Ghardaïa allowed to copy in 1859, after urgent requests of more than one month, and that was given to Duveyrier secretely. It relates events that go back to the 8th and 9th centuries, starting with a war that took place in 730, when there were not yet Ibāḍī-Wahbīs, and in which took part Aḥmad b. Sulaymān and ʿĪsà b. Nūḥ, ancestors of the two tribes that (in Duveyrier’s time) made up the population of Ghardaïa, who lived in two villages of Isedraten. The MS ends with a convention in 824 on the regulation of landownership in part of Mīzāb.
Then Duveyrier mentions two MSS brought from Ouargla by H. Tarry. The first one relates events in Isedraten that led to the abandonment of the village of Frān in 1197; it has as title: “This is the story of the chronicle of sheikh Ṣāliḥ b. Mūsà” (see Maghrib, Ṣāliḥ b. Mūsà). The second one gives 1274 as the date of the destruction of the villages of Isedraten; this MS starts with the words: “This is the history of Frān of Ouargla ...”.
